Real Madrid achieved a 2-0 victory against Real Sociedad at home today, concluding the final 38th round of the Spanish championship.
The win was secured by two goals from Kylian Mbappe. He netted the first goal in the 38th minute, despite missing a penalty earlier, and confirmed the result with another goal in the 83rd minute.
Real Madrid finished the La Liga season in second place with a total of 84 points.
Captain Luka Modrić, who will depart from Real Madrid following the Club World Cup, bid farewell to the Santiago Bernabeu stadium and its fans today.
He was substituted in the 86th minute, causing a brief pause in the game as the Croatian player received a standing ovation from the packed stadium, with players from both teams creating a corridor for him.
Fans displayed a large flag featuring Modrić’s image alongside the message: “Thank you, legend.”
