Krasnodar Derails Zenit’s 100th Anniversary Festivities
In the previous season, they secured second place, but this year, coinciding with the centenary of Russia’s largest club, Zenit, Krasnodar has clinched the title.
This victory marks the first in the club’s history since its establishment in 2008, having previously finished third in the Russian Premier League on three occasions.
Under the guidance of Murad Musayev, the team celebrated a 3-0 victory against Dinamo today, edging out Zenit by a single point.
CSKA, led by Marko Nikolić, finished third with a remarkable streak of 14 games without a loss, while Dejan Stanković’s Spartak secured fourth place.
Notably, for the first time since 2018, the title in Russia was not claimed by the expected favorites.
