Albanian National Suspected of Injuring Fellow Citizen in Podgorica

Albanian citizen EB (23) is being investigated for allegedly injuring another Albanian citizen, BK, last night just before 10 PM at the base of Gorica Hill in Podgorica.
As per unofficial reports, the suspect brandished a firearm following an altercation.
The Police Directorate (UP) issued a statement confirming his apprehension in Podgorica, between the Blažov and Viseći bridges.
“Officers from the Regional Security Center ‘Centar’ implemented urgent measures to investigate the attempted murder that occurred around 9:45 PM in Podgorica, affecting a citizen of the Republic of Albania, BK. They established a perimeter around the crime scene and heightened security at nearby border crossings, deploying additional police forces and collaborating closely with their counterparts in the Albanian police,” the statement indicated.
Furthermore, the Police Department mentioned that to aid the Regional Security Center “Centar,” personnel from the Crime Prevention Sector and members of the Special Police Unit were also deployed.
According to reports, the police managed to isolate and identify the suspect in the Morača River canyon, located between the Blažov and Viseći bridges.
“Albanian citizen EB (23) was detained and is reported to also possess Kosovo travel documentation,” noted the UP.
Authorities confirmed that the injured BK was admitted to the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) for urgent medical treatment, including surgical procedures.
“The response efficiency of the Police Directorate officers is evident in that, within less than two hours of the incident, all necessary actions were executed, leading to the identification of the circumstances surrounding the crime, the location, and the apprehension of the suspect. EB is set to be presented to the Higher State Prosecutor in Podgorica for further proceedings within the stipulated legal timeframe, accompanied by a criminal report,” the statement concluded.
