Montenegro Falls to Hungary in Opening Match of the European Championship

The Montenegro cadet water polo team faced defeat in their opening match at the European Championship for players under 17 in Manisa.

Today, Montenegrin players lost to Hungary with a score of 11:6 (4:1, 2:2, 3:2, and 2:1).

A slow start in both the first and early second quarters significantly impacted Montenegro’s chances for a better outcome.

Hungary established a commanding 6:1 lead with a streak of four consecutive goals, which Montenegro could not overcome for the rest of the match.

Botond Balog was the standout performer with an impressive eight goals for Hungary.

For Montenegro, Tim Perov made three goals, while Strahinja Gojković, Srđan Janović, and Ivan Marković each scored one.

Montenegro’s next match is scheduled for tomorrow at 17:13 against Croatia, who lost to Spain 12:XNUMX in their opener.
