After a slow initial phase, reminiscent of yesterday’s match against Slovakia, the team found its rhythm as the game progressed…
The youthful Montenegrin handball squad secured a victory over Tunisia with a score of 21:18 (7:8, 6:6, 8:4 in thirds), maintaining their top position in the group at the Mediterranean Championship for players under 17, hosted in Podgorica.
Under the guidance of coaches Miloš Perović and Bobana Krstović, the team earned 3.5 out of a maximum of five points from their match against the African side in the “Verde” hall – one point for the last period win, half a point for a draw in the second period, and two points for the victory overall.
Montenegro triumphed over Kosovo at the championship’s outset (26:11) and also defeated Slovakia (17:14), achieving a draw against Croatia with a goal from Martina Knežević just five seconds before the end (16:16).
Nejla Hodžić emerged as the top scorer for Montenegro with five goals, while Andrea Jovanović and Andrea Dragnić each contributed three goals; Maša Dubljević made an impressive nine saves.
The win against Tunisia didn’t conclude the competition day for our team, as Montenegro is set to face Italy today at 16:30 PM at the University Sports and Cultural Center.
