Montenegro has advanced to the finals of the Women’s Under-17 Mediterranean Championship in Podgorica!
In the final group stage match, the team, coached by Miloš Perović and Bobana Krstović, triumphed over Turkey with a score of 23:10 (7:4, 8:3, 8:3), securing the maximum five points—one point for each period won, plus two points for the match victory.
To claim the top spot in the group, which guarantees a place in the final, our girls needed to achieve 4.5 out of the five possible points since their only competitor, Slovakia, had defeated Italy in the earlier match, accumulating five points.
Our team displayed excellent performance against Turkey, ultimately securing their final spot with five victories and a draw. They are set to meet either Slovenia or Spain, who will compete at 1:30 PM.
Anđelina Orbović was the standout performer, scoring six goals, while Andrea Jovanović, Jovana Tešović, and Ivana Savić each contributed three goals.
Maša Dubljević registered seven saves in goal.
