Is there a party worse than one that simultaneously votes for Marko Kovačević, Mandić, and the corruption-tainted agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE)? Ivan Vujović, president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and a leader of the European Alliance, posed this question on the X platform.
According to Vujović, this party is termed the “Europe Now Movement.”
“Perhaps only those who abstained from voting to avoid supporting the duke who glorifies the executioners of their fellow citizens are worse. What a shame,” remarked Vujović.
Marko Kovačević was re-elected today as the mayor of the Municipality of Nikšić thanks to the votes from the councilors of the new ruling majority.
The coalition “For the Future of Nikšić” (ZBNK), which Kovačević led in the April local elections, along with the Europe Now Movement (PES) and Democrats-Plenum 083, voted in favor of his re-election. In contrast, councilors from the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and the European Alliance opposed him, with 22 councilors from the new government supporting Kovačević and 16 from the opposition voting against.
Andrija Mandić retains his position as the President of the Parliament of Montenegro.
During today’s parliamentary session, 20 MPs supported Mandić’s dismissal, while 41 voted against it.
The Parliament of Montenegro has once again ratified the Draft Law concerning the agreement between the Government of Montenegro and the UAE regarding cooperation in tourism and real estate development.
In today’s parliamentary session, 52 MPs participated, with 41 voting in favor, seven against, and four abstaining.
