After the feat against Bulgaria, the cadets stood against Serbia

Following Their Triumph Over Bulgaria, the Cadets Faced Serbia

The Montenegrin U19 men’s cadet volleyball team faced a tough loss against the Serbian national team, ending with a score of 3:1 (22:25, 25:20, 25:23, 25:14) during the second round of Group B at the U19 Balkan Championship in Banja Luka.

From the match’s onset, the competition was fierce in the “Borik” hall. Serbia began strong, leading 4:0, but Montenegro quickly caught up, evening the score at 5:5 and then taking the lead at 6:5. The first set was closely contested until 10:10, after which Montenegro surged ahead with a two-point lead at 13:11, extending it to 16:12 and then 18:13. The Montenegrin squad reached 24:20, earning their first set point. Serbia managed to stave off two set points, but the Montenegrin cadets seized the third opportunity to win the set 25:22.

The second set was equally thrilling. The teams started off tied at 6:6, but the Montenegrin cadets built a lead to 9:6 and then 13:8. Nevertheless, Serbia rallied back, turning the match around to lead 19:18. With five straight points, Serbia claimed the set 25:20, leveling the match at 1:1.

In a spectacular opening to the third set, Montenegro jumped to a 6:1 lead, then went on to 10:3. However, Serbia gradually closed the gap, tying it at 16:16 before reversing the momentum. Although Montenegro managed to tie it again at 21:21, Serbia’s performance in the final moments sealed the set 25:23, putting them ahead 2:1.

The fourth set saw Serbia dominated right from the start, launching an 8:0 run. Montenegro struggled to find their rhythm, unable to catch up. Serbia confidently finished the set at 25:14, concluding the match with a final score of 3:1 in sets.

Leading scorers for Montenegro were Vuk Stanojević and Luka Lojić. Stanojević had a remarkable game with 19 points, just three points shy of the Buducnost top scorer. Filip Milosavljević contributed nine points to the total.

On the Serbian side, Stefan Sok was impressive with 25 points, while Stefan Popić added 18 points.

Under coach Dejan Radić, Montenegro will continue their campaign in the Balkan Championship tomorrow, facing Greece at 13:00.
