Ibrahimović and Pearce Sign Joint Declaration for Strategic Partnership Between Montenegro and the UK

Montengrin Foreign Minister Ervin Ibrahimović and the UK’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Karen Pearce, have signed a Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership in Kotor today.

Ibrahimović stated, as per the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that this day signifies a substantial milestone for Montenegro-UK relations.

“This declaration marks the beginning of a new chapter in our collaboration and reaffirms the robust alliance we share,” he remarked.

Expressing gratitude to the UK for its persistent support in achieving Montenegro’s foreign policy goals and its active role in the region, he highlighted their mutual commitment to democracy, peace, and the rule of law.

“Such partnerships allow us to build a more resilient society and ensure a safer future for all citizens, clearly conveying that Montenegro is a credible and dependable partner in the international community,” said Ibrahimović.

Pearce noted that the Joint Declaration represents a significant advancement in the long-standing relationship between the UK and Montenegro, emphasizing the mutual appreciation for this bond.

“This declaration enhances our future cooperation across various aspects of our partnership, including security, economic development, the rule of law, migration, education, and culture,” Pearce stated.

Highlighting the UK’s commitment as a close ally, she reassured that the UK will continue to support Montenegro’s European aspirations.

“As hosts of the Berlin Process later this year, we aim to foster progress towards this objective while making concerted efforts to boost regional stability and collaboration,” Pierce expressed.

Today, Ibrahimović also met with Kate Ewart Biggs, Deputy Executive Director of the British Council for South East Europe, in Kotor.

They discussed enhancing cooperation in education and culture, focusing on elevating digital skills, building youth resilience, and promoting shared values through creative industry projects.
