The Prokletije National Park’s Protection Service has reported instances of illegal logging within the park, according to the announcement from the National Parks of Montenegro (NPCG).

In a statement shared on Facebook, NPCG indicated that, in collaboration with the Security Department in Plav, all necessary actions have been initiated to identify the individual responsible for this crime, and the relevant prosecutor’s office has been notified.

“The Prokletije National Park is a shared natural treasure, and any illegal exploitation significantly threatens the preservation of its distinctive flora and fauna. Our aim is to safeguard nature and ensure that such violations are addressed legally,” stated Miralem Metjahić, Director of Prokletije National Park.
