A perfect score was more than sufficient for the championship title, with the Cup winner determined by a superior goal difference.
A heartwarming tale emerges from Bijela—Mladost’s water polo players, hailing from Herceg Novi, clinched the double crown in the under-2012 age category by triumphing in the Cup.
They secured the Cup against their rivals from Akvatik Verde—both teams ended with an identical point tally of 13, but Mladost boasted a better goal difference after two tournaments.
During the first final tournament in Bijela, Mladost recorded five consecutive victories, defeating Nikšić 15:4, Budva 10:9, Jadran 8:2, Budućnost 11:3, and ultimately overcoming Akvatik Verde 8:5 in the finale.
The second tournament took place last weekend in Podgorica, where Akvatik Verde achieved a perfect result in its pool. They beat the upstart Mladost in the final, but not by enough to claim the overall title—5:3. Earlier, they triumphed over Nikšić 17:3, Jadran 12:5, Budva 6:5, and Budućnost 10:3.
The Budva team secured third place with ten points from two tournaments, while Budućnost finished fourth with eight points, Primorac took fifth with six, Jadran placed sixth with four, and Nikšić rounded out the standings in seventh with two points.
