Oklahoma, the top team in the West, held an 82:57 advantage in the third quarter and extended it to 102:80 in the fourth. However, against Minnesota, even that sizable lead proved insufficient.
The Timberwolves staged a remarkable comeback, pushing the NBA showdown into overtime, thanks to Anthony Edwards’ block on Shay Gilges-Alexander, culminating in a thrilling 131:128 victory for Minneapolis.
Jaden McDaniels starred for the winning team with 27 points, while Naz Reed and Nickel Alexander-Walker contributed 22 and 21 points, respectively. Edwards rounded out his performance with 17 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists.
On the other side, Gilges-Alexander’s impressive 39 points weren’t enough for OKC, with the standout being Minnesota’s “atomic ant”.
Chicago ended a six-game skid, although they were without Nikola Vučević, who missed the match against Philadelphia due to a left calf issue.
The Bulls achieved a resounding 142:110 victory, led by Josh Giddy with 25 points (along with 16 rebounds and six assists) and Kevin Hurter who added 23 points.
The night in the NBA was also notable for Nikola Jokić, who dished out 19 assists against Denver, setting a personal record in the league.
The Nuggets triumphed 125:116, with Jokić contributing 18 points and nine rebounds, while Aaron Gordon led the team with 25 points and Michael Porter notched 19 points and 11 rebounds.
For Indiana, Myles Turner led in efficiency with 23 points, while Tyrese Halliburton added 19 points and 15 assists.
