Vote to Remove Mandić and Reject the Agreement with the UAE
Miloš Konatar, the leader of the Civic Movement URA parliamentary group, reached out today to the members of the parliamentary majority prior to the session where the vote on removing Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandić, as well as the agreement with the United Arab Emirates, will take place.
“Dear colleagues, there are rare moments in life where we are granted a second chance to rectify our past mistakes. Today is one of those moments. You have an opportunity to amend the decisions you made when you entrusted Andrija Mandić with the position of Parliament President and when you approved agreements with the UAE that risk the sale of Montenegro’s invaluable natural resources. As Parliament members, we possess the privilege to enact positive change individually and collectively, benefitting countless citizens and advancing our nation, Montenegro. Alongside this privilege comes a significant responsibility to ensure our decisions are sound and do not jeopardize the well-being of our citizens and future generations,” Konatar conveyed.
He urged his fellow MPs to take actions “that benefit the citizens and the state” by voting for Mandić’s removal and rejecting the agreement with the UAE.
“I trust you will discover the goodness within yourselves and make the only just choice you can today, which is to prevent further deterioration in the Parliament and to safeguard Montenegro from being sold off. The onus is upon you, esteemed colleagues. I hope you will be courageous and fulfill the duties expected of deputies who represent the citizens and the nation of Montenegro,” Konatar stated in his message to the deputies, as reported by URA.
