The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović hosted the annual diplomatic corps gathering this year in Rožaje, in partnership with the Municipality of Rožaje.

Ibrahimović underlined the significance of maintaining consistent and meaningful dialogue with the diplomatic corps through various formats, including the traditional annual gatherings aimed at enhancing understanding of the cooperation and development potential across all regions of Montenegro. He expressed his pleasure that this year’s event was hosted in Rožaje—a town of diversity, openness, and opportunity.

He emphasized the Government’s commitment to ambitious development strategies that aim to make the natural beauty and resources of this region accessible—not just to the citizens of Montenegro, but to the wider area as well. He highlighted the Government’s focus on improving infrastructure and launching major capital projects that would promote more balanced regional development and enhance connectivity between the northern part of the country and the rest of Montenegro, as well as neighboring countries.

The gathering included remarks from the President of the Municipality Rahman Husović, who remarked that the attendance of the diplomatic corps members was not only an honor but also a significant motivator for ongoing progress and collaboration. He underscored the need for collective efforts to foster a more prosperous and modern society.

As part of the event, attendees visited an exhibition commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide.

Ibrahimović stated that a culture of remembrance should be a fundamental value for everyone—not just as a caution and responsibility, but as a foundation for building a more compassionate and enlightened future.

Members of the diplomatic corps were also given the chance to explore important cultural and historical sites in Rožaje, such as the City Mosque and the Ganića Tower Museum. The program included a performance by a local folklore ensemble.
