They Misled Me About Vodovod

The mayor of Pljevlja, Dario Vraneš, asserts that he was misled prior to signing the Proposal for the Appointment of Two New Members to the Board of Directors of the Municipal Water Company.
Recent changes have been made to the Waterworks Board, with Radovan Andjelic from the Democrats and Dejan Cavic from PES being replaced, which has led to disputes among coalition partners and dissatisfaction among employees.
“I signed the Proposal for the appointment of two new members to the Waterworks Board under the impression that I was misinformed by the PES coordinator in Pljevlja, Sasa Bjeković, who assured me that both Radovan Anđelić (Democrats) and Dejan Čavić (PES) had resigned, providing reasons for their move to other locations. I believed that it was unnecessary for me to verify these claims due to the trust I had in responsible individuals in key roles. My intention was to ensure that DOO Vodovod could function without interruption; I did not want the absence of these two members to hinder operations, especially since this company has just begun to emerge from years of issues after 15 years. That is the true situation,” stated Vraneš.
He emphasized that, as mayor, he should not interfere with local parliament decisions, but felt compelled to address the matter publicly for the sake of transparency and his commitment to the citizens.
Vraneš also refrained from commenting on the actual motives behind Cavic and Anjelic’s removal attempt.
“Is this, as claimed by DOO Vodovod workers, an agenda to hire an additional 20 people in the company’s administration for party purposes, or, as suggested by Mr. Marić, an irresponsible financial decision by the current director?” Mladen Jaćimović “I urge all parties to put politics aside and focus on the welfare of the citizens and employees,” remarked the mayor.
The water supply system has begun to recover after 15 years, a feat credited to the efforts of current management and the workers at the plant, preventing bankruptcy.
“Only a year ago, Vodovod was on the verge of collapse due to years of improper management. For the sake of honesty, I must publicly acknowledge that when no one was willing to lead Vodovod and many were distancing themselves from it, Mladen Jaćimović, the current executive director, stepped up. His dedication, courage, and support from the workforce helped rescue the company from imminent disaster. Despite not belonging to the same political party, I believe it is my duty to speak the truth regarding his contributions. While respecting all political principles, we must adhere to laws and legal processes, including potential terminations (no one is irreplaceable). We have witnessed years and decades of irresponsible behavior that have led to this situation. I call upon all those involved in this new phase of Vodovod to avoid politicizing issues, gather around the table, and collaboratively navigate towards the best outcomes for DOO “Vodovod” and the citizens’ public interest. The Municipality of Pljevlja will provide unwavering support,” concluded Dr. Dario Vraneš, Mayor of the Municipality of Pljevlja, in his statement.
