DPM Aleksić Holds Meeting with Representatives from the Education Union of Montenegro
Deputy Prime Minister for Education, Science, and Relations with Religious Communities Budimir Aleksić met with representatives from the Education Union of Montenegro, headed by Union President Radomir Božović.
The discussion centered on the current state of the education sector, especially the implications of the newly introduced centralized payroll system, which is anticipated to lead to salary reductions for many education professionals.
Union representatives updated Deputy Prime Minister Aleksić on the actions taken in response to the salary cuts, as well as the strategies the Union plans to implement to safeguard the rights of its members.
We urge Mr. Aleksić to personally appeal to Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and Minister of Education Anđela Jakšić Stojanović to restart the social dialogue that has been paused for the past fifteen days.
Deputy Prime Minister Aleksić emphasized the necessity for all parties to re-engage in dialogue and reach a compromise solution that would benefit teachers, who constitute one of the most essential pillars of Montenegrin society. He assured that he would advocate for this resolution during the Cabinet session.
