Ilija Racanović (35) from Budva has been placed in custody following two violations of his house arrest within 24 hours, as reported by Vijesti.

According to reports, Racanović was ordered to remain under house arrest yesterday. However, police were unable to locate him at his designated residence, both last night and earlier today.

He was initially arrested on May 23 in Budva, and just two days later, the Kotor prosecutor suggested to the court that he be placed under supervision. Racanović, believed to be affiliated with the Kavak criminal group, was apprehended after police discovered a firearm with a live round in the chamber.

Following the prosecutor’s recommendation, the investigating judge at the Basic Court in Kotor ruled that he should be placed under house arrest yesterday.

During checks conducted last night and today, law enforcement confirmed that Racanović was not present in his apartment, prompting immediate notification to the Kotor court and prosecutor’s office.

In response to the prosecution’s appeal, investigative judge Špiro Pavicevic issued an order to detain Racanović for a period of up to 30 days.

“The prosecutor’s recommendation for detention was based on two factors: the risk of flight and the potential for re-offending. This decision was made because he was not found at his assigned address during two separate checks, thereby breaching the imposed measure,” stated Judge Veljko Bulatović, spokesperson for the Basic Court in Kotor, to Vijesti.

In addition to his recent arrest in Budva, he was previously apprehended in February 2025 in Pljevlja alongside four others linked to organized crime, during which two firearms with altered serial numbers were discovered.
