Buducnost Secures Seed in Champions League Draw, Pending License Approval

As everyone awaits updates on obtaining a license for European competitions, some positive news has emerged from Podgorica – the Buducnost players will be seeded in the draw for the first round of qualifications for the Champions League.

This development came after Milsami from Orhei clinched the Moldovan championship title – a team established in 2005 that drew 0:0 with Sherif from Tiraspol in the final match, securing their place in the cup for the second time ever.

Milsami holds a lower UEFA ranking coefficient compared to Buducnost, allowing the Montenegrin champions to claim a seeding spot. Had the outcome of the Moldovan championship race been different, with Sherif emerging victorious, the Tiraspol team would have been among the seeded teams in the draw.

This situation places Buducnost in a favorable position to potentially bypass the first qualifying round, steering clear of some strong opponents who are seeded, including Ludogorec, Steaua, Olimpija Ljubljana, and Malmo.

Possible contenders in the draw include Escaldes (Andorra), Shkendija (S. Macedonia), Levadia (Estonia), Dinamo Minsk, Hamrun (Malta), Kairat (Kazakhstan), Differdange (Luxembourg), Noah (Armenia), Iberia (Georgia), Vikingur Geta (F. Islands), Shelburne (Ireland), Egnatia (Albania), Virtus (San Marino), and Milsami (Moldova).

Most importantly, Buducnost needs to secure their license for European competitions following their appeal, as they were unable to achieve this in the previous round. The issue concerns the timing of payment for participation in European competitions being disputed, as it was made late.

However, it appears that this time fortune may smile upon the Montenegrin champions and the license will be granted. We now look forward to the draw and discovering who Buducnost’s first opponent will be in the Champions League qualifiers.
