The former executive director of Budućnost, Novak Novaković, has been reportedly dismissed from his role, according to unofficial sources from “Vijesti.”
His dismissal came under the authority of the president of the club’s Supervisory Board, Boško Kovačević.
Recently, Kovačević commented to “Vijesti” that Novaković appointed Dejan Damjanović as sports director without proper authorization just before the formation of the club’s new Supervisory Board.
Last month, during a conference celebrating the club’s centennial, Podgorica’s mayor, Saša Mujović, advised Novaković to wait on appointing Damjanović until the new Supervisory Board was elected, ensuring that all decisions are legally compliant.
This is not the only issue attributed to the former executive director; the most significant concern is the complications regarding the club’s license to compete in European competitions this season.
How could a club with millions in revenue fail to pay taxes amounting to tens of thousands of euros?
A decision on whether Budućnost’s appeal will be successful is expected today; meanwhile, Novaković has already been relieved of his responsibilities.
The club is set to issue an official statement regarding this matter later today.
