This year, the Pljevlja Coal Mine (RUP) has dedicated 100,000 euros to sponsor 11 local sports clubs.

Executive Director Nemanja Laković signed sponsorship agreements with representatives from: RK “Rudar”, KK “Rudar”, RK “Pljevlja”, OK “Rudar”, KK “Potoci”, AK “Rudar”, Judo Club “Pljevlja”, Auto-Moto Sports Club “AP Sport”, Chess Club “Rudar”, FK “Breznica”, and OK “Pljevlja”.

Laković emphasized that RUP has a longstanding commitment to supporting all aspects of social life in Pljevlja, and it will continue to back local sports this year.

“The Pljevlja Coal Mine will persist, as it has in previous years, in supporting sports, believing that it is vital for a healthy society and crucial for the development of youth. We aim to assist sports organizations that engage primarily with young people since children’s sports lay the groundwork for a healthy community. By investing in sports, we are investing in their health, talent development, and the future of our community. We uphold this beneficial tradition, for which Pljevlja has been recognized for decades. This initiative reiterates RUP’s dedication to investing in the future and reinforcing the community through support for sports, education, culture, and other socially significant areas. We will continue to be a supportive partner, sharing victories, passions, values, and goals,” Laković stated.

Sports club representatives expressed their gratitude for RUP’s support.

“This donation is crucial for our club’s development and allows us to remain competitive in the pursuit of future trophies. I extend my thanks to the Coal Mine and the Executive Director. This funding is a significant boost that supports our operations each year,” said Igor Mašković, president of RK “Rudar”.

Mirhad Plakalo, president of the Auto-Moto Sports Club “AP Sport”, highlighted that “since our club’s inception, Rudnik has always been by our side. While finances are essential, it means even more to have someone recognize our efforts. We are committed to justifying these investments and proving our excellence in sports.”

The coal mine serves as the backbone of the Montenegrin economy, consistently supporting local clubs, underscored Radoš Gačević, president of AK “Rudar”.

“He has been a longstanding supporter of our club, and we hope for continued collaboration. Without this sponsorship, many of our activities wouldn’t be possible, and for that, we express our gratitude,” Gačević concluded.
