Former Serbian President Boris Tadić has revealed that attendees at the current Munich Security Conference are informing him that Serbian delegates are “sharing information with Western politicians suggesting that Russian services and interests are behind the student protests in Serbia.”

Tadić, the leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDS), noted that this “new level of aggression towards the students” leading widespread citizen protests starkly contradicts the narrative in Serbia that labels these events as a “colored revolution,” which, according to him, is often alleged to be “spearheaded by the West.”

“It is illogical for (Serbian representatives) to assert both that a color revolution is occurring (in the country) and that Russia is orchestrating it, especially given that the progressive government has signed an agreement granting Serbia observer status in the Russian defense alliance, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and established a working group with Russia specifically to combat color revolutions,” Tadić stated on the social platform X.

The Munich Security Conference, held annually in Bavaria’s capital, has evolved since 1963 into one of the most significant international platforms where policy-makers engage in discussions on global security issues, attracting around 350 participants from over 70 nations each year.
