The Mayor of Pljevlja Municipality, Dr. Dario Vraneš, has signed contracts with twelve entrepreneurs whose business plans were deemed the most promising by the evaluation committee during a public call for support aimed at fostering entrepreneurship, tourism, and women’s entrepreneurship. A total of 29 applications were submitted for assistance in developing entrepreneurship and tourism, alongside 15 proposals for the women’s entrepreneurship incentive program.
This year, the Municipality of Pljevlja allocated 50,000 euros in grants to enhance and support entrepreneurship, tourism, and women’s entrepreneurial activities.
Vraneš highlighted the pivotal role of local government in assisting small businesses.
“I am thrilled to witness an increasing number of residents who are seizing opportunities in entrepreneurship and tourism, particularly in rural areas and craft sectors. The local government exists to support you and all other citizens. You can be assured that the doors of the Municipality are always open for those who are working and creating. We will do everything possible to assist entrepreneurs. Real progress cannot occur without creating new jobs, and each new job in the economy is invaluable,” Vraneš expressed to the recipients of the grants.
This year, the identified priorities include supporting the growth of entrepreneurship and tourism in rural settings, along with preserving craft activities that are at risk of disappearing.
The signing ceremony was attended by Danko Šarančić, Secretary of the Secretariat for Economy, and Rajko Palibrk, Head of the Service for Entrepreneurship and Tourism.
“The budget for this year allocates 50,000 euros, of which 15,000 euros is designated for promoting women’s entrepreneurship. I believe that next year, we will increase these funds, particularly due to the immense interest from entrepreneurs and the numerous excellent business plans that merit a subsidy. I would also like to emphasize that no objections were raised against the final ranking list, which reflects the committee’s responsible and transparent work,” stated Šarančić.
