On May 29, the Parliament will revisit the draft Law on Ratifying the Agreement regarding Cooperation in Tourism and Real Estate Development between the Governments of Montenegro and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

On April 23, the parliament accepted, via an emergency procedure, laws confirming agreements for economic cooperation in tourism and real estate with the UAE.

The vote was crucial for these agreements, which Prime Minister Milojko Spajić signed with officials from the UAE on March 28, to take effect.

Montenegro’s President Jakov Milatović ratified the Law on Economic Cooperation at the end of April and returned the tourism and real estate development cooperation agreement to Parliament for further consideration.

The primary concerns pertain to inconsistencies with constitutional provisions that ensure free competition and equal market conditions, as well as the suspension of Montenegrin laws regarding public procurement, public tenders, and state property. Moreover, it mandates amendments to other Montenegrin legislation for the Agreement’s implementation.

The agenda for the upcoming session will also include a proposal to remove the Speaker of Parliament, Andrija Mandić.
