A citizen of Azerbaijan, identified as GT (35), has been apprehended at Podgorica Airport.

The Border Police Sector at Podgorica Airport detained him upon his arrival in Montenegro, following a warrant issued by Interpol in Moscow.

An international arrest warrant has been issued for GT, as he is suspected of committing large-scale fraud in Russia, a crime that may result in a prison sentence of up to ten years.

“GT will appear before the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica within the legally stipulated timeframe to determine the conditions for extradition detention. Additional communication will occur between Interpol NCB Podgorica and Interpol NCB Moscow,” stated the Police Directorate.
