The President of the Republika Srpska (RS) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, declared today at a rally in Sremska Mitrovica that RS and Serbia unite the Serbian people, emphasizing that “Serbs from RS are not Prečani from either side of the Drina, but are true Serbs.”
During the Serbian Statehood Day celebration in Sremska Mitrovica, Dodik remarked that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić deserves to be “watched and listened to.”
“He (Vučić) has elevated Serbia to such heights that it is no longer merely a currency to be trifled with; it has achieved economic progress and become strong and powerful,” Dodik stated, among several speakers at the event.
Dodik noted that Serbia has altered its international standing.
“I remember the years when many felt embarrassed and disgusted by Serbia. With Aleksandar Vučić’s international presence, Serbia is robust and formidable. Vučić and his team have given Serbia a newfound respect that must be honored. Now, there are those who wish to undermine it,” Dodik remarked.
He argued that current events within Serbia are detrimental to the nation.
“This is inflicting significant economic and political damage. It is time for it to cease,” declared the RS president.
He criticized the student protests and described the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as criminal, alleging that three billion dollars have been funneled through it in efforts to topple a strong president—implicitly referencing Vučić.
At the same gathering, Milan Knežević, president of the Democratic People’s Party (DNP) and a member of the Montenegro Parliament, also addressed the audience, advocating for dual citizenship rights for Serbs in Montenegro and equal status for the Serbian language in the Montenegrin constitution.
