Man Detained for Threatening Vučić
According to reports from pro-government tabloids in Serbia, the Special Department for High-Tech Crime of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade issued orders for the arrest of MT on charges of endangering security.
MT, believed to be using the alias Mladen Tanjga on social media, reportedly shared tweets containing direct threats against the family of President Aleksandar Vučić.
Večernje Novosti claims that in his posts, MT “issued alarming threats towards Vučić’s family,” making specific references to his daughter, wife, mother, and father.
Ana Brnabić, the Speaker of the Serbian Parliament, condemned the “disturbing threats made by MT against President Aleksandar Vučić and his family” on social media, and confirmed the arrest, urging the public to closely monitor the developments in this case.
“It is not uncommon for those who make threats to receive lenient sentences. I am uncertain if this individual deserves only imprisonment, or if he requires more serious psychiatric intervention,” Brnabić remarked during an interview on TV Pink.
