Atlanta Triumphs Over Memphis with Last-Second Shot, Gilges-Alexander Nets 51 in Oklahoma’s Victory

The Atlanta Hawks triumphed over the Memphis Grizzlies with a score of 132:130 in a thrilling away game, marking Memphis’ third consecutive loss in the NBA.
Zachary Rissacher from Atlanta shone brightly, scoring 27 points, while Caris Levert contributed 25 points, five assists, and three steals. Levert was pivotal, sinking the game-winning layup in the final second, following a steal by Dyson Daniels from Memphis guard Desmond Bayne.
Onyeka Okongwu also made his mark, achieving a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Additionally, Dyson Daniels recorded 14 points, seven assists, and three steals, while Trae Young provided 12 points along with 15 assists.
For Memphis, without their star Ja Morant due to a shoulder injury, Desmond Bayne led the team with an impressive triple-double, scoring 35 points, along with 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Luke Kennard added 17 points and seven assists, while Zach Eadie and Vince Williams Jr. contributed 15 points each. Jaren Jackson Jr., the Grizzlies’ top scorer this season, unfortunately injured his ankle early in the game and did not return.
With this victory, Atlanta has seen its second win in their last seven games, positioning them ninth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 28/33, while Memphis holds fourth in the West with 38 wins and 23 losses.
Oklahoma City secured a victory over Houston at home with a score of 137:128, extending their winning streak to four games.
Shai Gilges-Alexander starred for Oklahoma City, scoring an impressive 51 points, along with seven assists and five rebounds. Jaylen Williams contributed 24 points, Cason Wallace added 14 points, and Chet Holmgren recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite being without All-Star center Alperen Shengun due to a back injury, Cam Whitmore led Houston with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Reed Shepard scored 25 points, Jaylen Green added 18 points, and Aaron Holiday chipped in 14 points.
With their sixth victory in the last seven games, Oklahoma City now leads the Western Conference with a record of 50/11, while Houston stands fifth with 37 wins and 24 losses.
Sacramento achieved a dominant 122:98 victory over Dallas on the road, securing their fourth consecutive win.
Zach LaVine was the standout for Sacramento, scoring 22 points, while DeMar DeRozan added 20 points and Keegan Murray contributed 18 points. Notably, NBA’s leading rebounder Domantas Sabonis missed the game due to a hamstring strain.
Kyrie Jones was the leading scorer for Dallas, notching 21 points and eight rebounds. Naji Marshall scored 18 points, followed by Max Christie and Spencer Dinwiddie with 10 points each. The Mavericks faced further setbacks with All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving sustaining a left knee injury late in the first quarter and Anthony Davis remaining sidelined with a left-foot injury.
Sacramento is currently in eighth place in the Western Conference with 32 wins and 28 losses, while Dallas, having lost four of their last five games, is in 10th place with a record of 32/30.
Miami managed a solid 106:90 victory against Washington at home, marking their third win in the last four games.
Bam Adebayo was Miami’s star player, achieving a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds. Duncan Robinson contributed 17 points, while both Tyler Hiro and Pel Larson added 16 points apiece, and Terry Rozier scored 15 points. Serbian international Nikola Jović was absent due to a hand injury.
Khris Middleton led Washington’s efforts with 16 points, while Bob Carrington scored 14 points along with seven assists, and Kishawn George added 10 points and eight rebounds. Serbian power forward Tristan Vukcevic scored three points in two minutes of play.
Miami’s current standing is seventh in the Eastern Conference with a record of 29/31, while Washington finds itself at the bottom, in 15th place, with just 11 wins and 49 losses.
In other games, Detroit, led by Cade Cunningham’s 29 points and nine assists, defeated Utah 134:106, marking their 10th victory in the last 11 games. Meanwhile, Portland, bolstered by 34 points from Anfirni Simons, defeated Philadelphia 119:102, handing the latter their 10th loss in 11 matches.
In Golden State’s triumph over Charlotte 119-101, Buddy Hield scored 22 points while Stephen Curry contributed 21 points, marking the Warriors’ sixth win in their last seven games.
