Raids at 27 Locations Lead to Seizure of Weapons, Ammunition, Prescription Pills, and Drugs

Law enforcement officials executed searches at 27 locations across the southern, central, and northern regions of the country, resulting in the confiscation of 24 weapons, 335 rounds of ammunition, two knives, 36 opiate pills, and approximately 115 grams of narcotics, according to today’s announcement from the Police Directorate (PD).
The security agency stated that these actions were taken “to combat violence, maintain public order, ensure the safety of all citizens, and to locate weapons and narcotics among organized crime members, individuals of operational interest, their associates, and others whose actions may threaten the security environment.”
“Within the jurisdiction of the Regional Security Center ‘Centar’, police conducted searches at five locations. Officers from the Cetinje Security Department discovered an SP pistol on one individual and an NP pistol with a round in the chamber along with an air rifle during the searches at two sites. A misdemeanor report was filed against one person under the Weapons Act, while the prosecutor will determine the classification of the offense concerning the pistol and air rifle after an expert examination,” the statement indicated.
The Police Department also reported that searches were conducted at three locations under the jurisdiction of the Podgorica Security Department. During these searches, two pistols, 57 rounds of various types and calibers of ammunition, a pen gun, and a revolver were confiscated from DU. Additionally, a small-caliber rifle with five rounds of ammunition was seized from the same individual in Bar.
“Furthermore, a small quantity of marijuana and 19 opiate pills were found in DU’s possession in Podgorica, regarding which the prosecutor will later provide a statement. DU was detained on suspicion of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives,” the announcement noted.
The UP reported that a search of NR’s premises resulted in the discovery of a small quantity of marijuana and cocaine, along with 11 Xanax pills, a so-called crusher, and a scale for precise measurement.
“A misdemeanor charge will be filed against him for violations of the Drug Abuse Prevention Act,” the UP added.
The police also conducted a search at MR’s residence, leading to plans for criminal charges against him for property-related criminal offenses.
“In the area governed by the Regional Security Center ‘North’, police conducted searches at 11 locations. In Berane, officers found six pills from the opiate list and a military knife—bayonet in VM’s possession, as well as a pistol, two hunting rifles, and two air rifles with 159 rounds of various types and calibers in LJ’s possession and several pieces of additional equipment. A request will be made against VM’s father to initiate misdemeanor proceedings for the misuse of weapons, while a misdemeanor warrant will be issued to LJ in accordance with the Law on Weapons, and a criminal report will be raised against his father SJ (regarding ammunition) on suspicion of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives. Furthermore, during a search of JJ’s apartment and other premises in Berane, a pistol and a hunting knife were discovered. The competent prosecutor will classify the offense following appropriate expert evaluations,” the statement indicated.
The UP stated that in Bijelo Polje, the police confiscated a small amount of marijuana from SV, and a misdemeanor charge will be filed against him for violating the Weapons Act.
They further reported that AB had 64 rounds of ammunition found, for which a misdemeanor warrant will be issued under the Weapons Act.
“A hunting rifle was found on MJ, and criminal charges are planned against him on suspicion of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives,” the UP announced.
The security agency reported that officers from the Regional Security Center “South” executed searches at 11 locations, resulting in the confiscation of five rifles and 17 rounds of ammunition in Tivat, along with three gas pistols, 33 rounds of ammunition, approximately 90 grams of marijuana, and a small amount of a substance believed to be cocaine in Kotor.
“In Ulcinj, police seized a starting pistol, while in Budva, over 12 grams of cocaine were found. The individual connected with the drugs has been detained on suspicion of unauthorized production, possession, and distribution of narcotic drugs. The prosecutor will provide a statement regarding the other confiscated items — weapons, ammunition, and drugs — at a later time,” the UP concluded.
