The players of Podgorica Bemax are set to resume their responsibilities in the NLB Second ABA League after a month-long hiatus. Marko Sekulić’s team will face Bosna in Sarajevo at 8 p.m.
This matchup resembles a contest from the 3rd round of the Top 8 phase within Group E, where Bosnia holds a mixed record (one victory against Helios and a loss to Zlatibor), while Podgorica has experienced two defeats against the same opponents.
The game in Sarajevo marks Podgorica Bemax’s first away match in the Top 8 phase.
“We are gearing up for a tough and challenging away match. Facing Bosna, a team recognized as a top contender for the ABA 2 league title, illustrates the challenge we’re up against. After recent defeats in both the ABA2 league and the domestic league, Bosna will be eager for a comeback, especially with a new coach at the helm. Conversely, this represents a significant challenge for our young team and a valuable opportunity to make a strong impression against such a formidable opponent,” expressed Marko Sekulić, head coach of Podgorica Bemax, on the club’s website.
As one of the favorites, Bosna carries the pressure to perform, while Podgorica Bemax, following two home losses, is primarily focused on developing its young talent.
“We anticipate a physically intense match against a Bosnia team filled with skilled and experienced players. Our focus must be unwavering, and we need to give our maximum effort. While Bosnia is certainly favored in this matchup, we trust in our game strategy and believe we can secure a victory in Sarajevo,” noted Balša Živanović, playmaker for Podgorica Bemax.
