Has Prime Minister Milojko Spajić witnessed this disgrace, or is he too busy globetrotting? questioned Nikola Zirojević, an MP from the Social Democrats (SD) and representative of the European Union.
According to a statement from the European Union, Zirojević responded to a “scandalous” remark made by a member of the Europe Now Movement (PES).
The non-governmental organization (NGO) Center for Civil Rights announced today that it has filed a criminal complaint against Sanja Mihailović Kovačević, a councilor of the Europe Now Movement (PES) in Berane, based on suspicions that she committed a criminal offense under Articles 370 and/or 398 of the Criminal Code of Montenegro—inciting national hatred and public incitement to violence and hatred.
The NGO stated that Mihailović Kovačević commented on a public social media post celebrating Montenegro’s Independence Day: “They shed blood.”
“Who is this ‘nice lady,’ colleagues from the Europe Now Movement? She is effectively following the party’s policy of avoiding divisive issues or, as you prefer to call them, ‘contentious topics.’ Has Prime Minister Milojko Spajić acknowledged this scandal, or is he preoccupied with his travels around the globe? Perhaps you will not distance yourselves from her, condemn her, or call for her resignation, since she cannot represent you in this manner? It’s even more alarming that she is a doctor—imagine if she treats someone who supports independence? Far from it,” Zirojević remarked.
Spajić is the leader of PES as well.
