The President of the Municipality of Bar, Dušan Raičević, has decided to revise the Regulations on Student Rewards, with an aim to increase the financial awards granted to top-performing students holding the “Luča” diploma.
The local administration asserts that Raičević’s decision comes from recognizing that the knowledge, effort, and dedication of young individuals are the most significant assets of our community.
The updated Rulebook proposes an increase in cash awards across all categories. High school students demonstrating outstanding performance and appropriate behavior throughout their primary and secondary education will now receive 130 euros, up from the previous amount of 200 euros.
Meanwhile, high school students with exemplary achievements and behavior will be awarded 150 euros instead of 100 euros. Additionally, primary school students achieving excellent grades will receive 100 euros, an increase from the former 80 euros.
The Municipality of Bar also provides prizes for winners of national and international competitions overseen by the examination center and the Center for Vocational Education, offering awards of 300 euros for first place, 200 euros for second, and 100 euros for third.
“This allocation increase aligns with the Municipality of Bar’s ongoing efforts to enhance investments in education by supporting and rewarding outstanding performers,” the statement noted.
They also remind that last year there was a notable 150 percent increase in scholarships for top students, raising the total funding from the local budget from 100,000 to 250,000 euros.
The local government adds that it allocates substantial resources for elementary school students, covering informal education, school meals, supplies, and sports club memberships, totaling 180,000 euros from the local budget for these initiatives this year.
“Through a comprehensive support and reward system, the Municipality of Bar aims to cultivate a nurturing environment for the education and development of youth, where effort, commitment, and success are acknowledged and rewarded. We firmly believe that investing in knowledge and young people is an investment in the future of our Bar,” they declared.
