Concerning the arrest of former National Security Agency (ANB) officer Duško Golubović, Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević remarked on Aplus Television that the investigation should reveal all pertinent information, praising the efforts of both the Special Police Department (SPO) and the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT).
“It’s positive that justice is being pursued for everyone, whether it’s regarding me, Duško Golubović, or anyone with suspicions,” stated Gorčević.
According to “Vijesti,” an investigation has been initiated against Golubović for money laundering, with SPO officers seizing documents from the Podgorica-based travel agency “Grand.” The agency is owned by Sreten Kankaraš, who has ties to Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and the Europe Now Movement (PES).
Sources within the political and security sectors informed “Vijesti” that investigators are probing Golubović’s travel plans and the agency’s documentation related to renting a residence formerly occupied by an ex-employee of the National Security Agency and the Police Directorate.
On the show “Last Sunday,” Gorčević commented that she believes Kankaraš has connections to the prime minister.
“However, Kankaraš is not a senior member of the Europe Now Movement,” Gorčević clarified.
She also mentioned that she struggles to grasp family ties.
“These familial connections emphasized in the media aimed to harm the prime minister’s image,” Gorčević asserted.
The minister stated that Kankaraš is not part of any PES governing body, although he is affiliated with the movement.
“I know Kankaraš personally. His travel agency is reputable, and we ought to avoid making hasty judgments, particularly with the presumption of innocence in mind. Let the investigation clarify Golubović’s travel history,” Gorčević said.
When a journalist inquired about an alleged dispute at the recent PES Main Board meeting, Gorčević noted that she was unable to attend due to professional commitments.
“I wasn’t in Podgorica, which caused me to miss the GO session. It was a meeting without specific outcomes. There were discussions,” Gorčević concluded.
