Montenegro Placed in Third Pot for EHF Euro Draw
The Montenegrin national handball team is placed in pot three for the upcoming draw of the 2026 European Championship, set to take place in Herning, Denmark, on Thursday at 19:00.
Following the conclusion of the EHF Euro 2026 qualifiers, where the “Lions” secured second place in qualifying round 2 behind Hungary, the European Handball Federation (EHF) revealed the pot compositions for the forthcoming draw.
This draw will establish the six preliminary round groups. Notably, Germany is confirmed in Group A (Herning), Denmark is in Group B, Sweden has been assigned to Group E (Malmo), while Norway is in Group C (Oslo). The Faroe Islands will be in Group D, and Iceland will compete in Group F in Kristianstad.
The European Championship will take place across Denmark, Sweden, and Norway from January 15 to February 1 next year.
For Montenegro, this will mark their seventh consecutive and eighth overall appearance in the European Championships.
