“Football’s Unpredictability: We’ll Return Stronger Next Season”

Barcelona’s head coach Hansi Flick voiced his disappointment regarding “certain referee decisions” after the team’s exit from the Champions League semi-finals against Inter Milan.

On Tuesday, Barcelona lost 4-3 in an away match after extra time, having drawn 3-3 in the first leg at home.

“I’m disappointed, but we can be proud of our performance. My team gave everything, but sometimes football can be unfair,” Flick remarked during the post-match press conference.

He also mentioned that “some referee decisions were not in our favor” and noted that “all the 50-50 calls seemed to go Inter’s way.”

Similar to the first leg, Barcelona fell behind 2-0 in this match but managed to come back to equalize at 2-2 and briefly led 3-2 in the 88th minute. However, Inter leveled the score again in injury time, pushing the match into extra time where the decisive goal was netted by Italian international Davide Fratezi in the 99th minute.

“The team gave their best effort to secure a win. All we can do now is accept this outcome and move forward. Inter proved to be a strong team with excellent defense, skilled strikers, good ball control, and strong coordination. We’ll learn from this experience and come back stronger next season. It’s natural to feel disappointed at the moment, but we’ll resume training on Thursday,” Flick stated.

Barcelona, currently at the top of La Liga, will face Real Madrid in “El Clasico” this Sunday.
