For the second time in two weeks, the Primorje water polo team triumphed over Italy, solidifying their bid for the next round of the Eurocup.
Following their victory over Ortiđa, Kotor emerged victorious against Trieste on the road (12:10), marking their third win in the group and securing the top position on the leaderboard.
Zoran Maslovar’s squad has accumulated nine points with two rounds remaining, one point ahead of Panionios, the team that handed them their only defeat, and three points clear of Ortiđa…
Primorac maintained control of the match in Trieste for a considerable duration, but the closing moments of the third quarter hinted at potential trouble, as the home team gained a 3:0 advantage with a 10:9 streak after Đorđije Stanojević received a “brutality” penalty, leaving his team shorthanded for four minutes.
Fortunately, the Montenegrin vice-champion responded aptly, with the match concluding thanks to goals from Draško Brguljan, Marko Mršić, and Nikola Marković, who sealed a magnificent victory.
Mršić led Primorac with four goals, while Marković and Tim Perov added two each, and Brguljan, Nemanja Vico, Balša Vučković, and Petar Ćetković contributed one goal apiece.
In the upcoming round, Primorac will face Panionios at home on November 23, who triumphed over Ortiđa 13:10 thanks to two goals from Aleksa Ukropina.
