The Chairman of the Security Committee, Miodrag Laković from the Europe Now Movement, stated that it was not feasible to convene an earlier session of the parliamentary body regarding the tragedies in Cetinje. This topic will be addressed behind closed doors by MPs and security sector leaders on Friday.
Laković mentioned during the Reflektor show on TV Vijesti that he was a colleague of the long-serving National Security Agency agent and former Police Administration officer Duško Golubović back in 1992. However, he clarified that they had lost contact since then.
Golubović was apprehended on suspicion of money laundering. Laković also asserted that he wasn’t aware of any connections between the PES members and Golubović, although he did mention Golubović had acquaintances linked to the Prime Minister.
“In the past 24 years, our paths have not crossed at any level,” he stated.
When questioned about individuals close to Prime Minister Spajić who might have had regular contact with Golubović, Laković responded: “As far as I know – no one.”
“Regarding what is being suggested about a familial bond between Prime Minister Spajić, I believe it to be merely an acquaintance. I cannot specify the depth of the relationship, but it seems entirely benign in a civil context,” added Laković, confirming he was referencing Sreten Kankaraš.
