RS Officials Remain Silent: No Response to BiH Prosecutor’s Office Calls

The President of the Republika Srpska (RS) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, announced today that no RS officials will comply with the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) if they are accused of undermining the constitutional order due to laws passed in the entity’s parliament. These laws prevent the functioning of the state court and prosecutor’s office, the Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), and the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH (HJPC) within RS.

“No one will respond to those summons,” said Dodik during a press conference following a meeting with the top officials of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP RS).

He urged all Serbs employed in SIPA and state judicial bodies to immediately resign and return to RS institutions, where he assured them secure positions await.

Dodik also emphasized that the security situation in RS is stable, stating that its police force will maintain peace and stability, and he noted that he has no information regarding Bosniak families relocating from returnee settlements in the Višegrad area.

When asked for his response to the Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović’s announcement to request a constitutional review of the laws restricting state judicial entities and police agencies in RS, Dodik reminded that the RS National Assembly had already enacted a law prohibiting the publication and enforcement of decisions from the Constitutional Court of BiH.

He reiterated his view of BiH as a “failed country,” and described RS as a “state,” claiming that the “state leadership of RS” focuses solely on safeguarding the Dayton Constitution of BiH and advocating for its implementation.
