The Report on Montenegro, adopted yesterday by the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, reiterated that Montenegro is the most advanced candidate for EU membership in the region, according to Boris Pejović, Secretary General of the Europe Now Movement (PES) and Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro.

Pejović noted that the European Parliament highlighted significant advancements in aligning with the EU legal framework, robust citizen support for EU membership, and a clear goal to join the Union by 2028.

“The government, led by the Europe Now! Movement, confirmed its commitment and capability to secure tangible outcomes within an ambitious timeline by closing three chapters at the end of last year for the first time in seven years.

This acknowledgment strengthens our policy approach focused on enhancing economic standards, expediting European integration, and upholding the rule of law. These three interconnected objectives will continue to guide the direction of the Europe Now Movement,” Pejović stated in a media release.
