After suffering six defeats, including three this season, they claimed victory after five matches, with the Montenegrin champions winning 15:13 in Trebinje (the regular score was 11:11).

Darko Đurović, the goalkeeper, emerged as the hero for Novljan, making five critical saves from players Loren Fatović and Konstantin Harkov.

On the opposing side, Russians Ivan Nagaev and Dmitrij Holod, as well as Danilo Radović and Lazar Vukićević, displayed confidence in their shots.

Under the guidance of coach Petar Radanović, the team held a three-goal lead three times, with the last being 10:7 in the third quarter, but Fatović found the net four times for Split, bringing them back in the game.
