Novljani Surpass Jadran from Split
The water polo players of Jadran have finally broken their losing streak against the Jadran team from Split.
After suffering six defeats, including three this season, they claimed victory after five matches, with the Montenegrin champions winning 15:13 in Trebinje (the regular score was 11:11).
Darko Đurović, the goalkeeper, emerged as the hero for Novljan, making five critical saves from players Loren Fatović and Konstantin Harkov.
On the opposing side, Russians Ivan Nagaev and Dmitrij Holod, as well as Danilo Radović and Lazar Vukićević, displayed confidence in their shots.
Under the guidance of coach Petar Radanović, the team held a three-goal lead three times, with the last being 10:7 in the third quarter, but Fatović found the net four times for Split, bringing them back in the game.
For Jadran, Holod, Nagaev, and Jovan Vujović each netted three goals, while Danilo Radović scored two, and Vukićević, Martin Gardašević, Martin Čaraj, and Vasilije Radović each added one goal.
Đurović made an impressive 11 saves from the field and blocked three five-meter shots, including a crucial one against Jerko Marinić-Kragić in the first quarter.
