Houston Rockets player Aimen Thompson is expected to be sidelined for 10 to 14 days due to a sprained left ankle.

After undergoing an MRI, it was confirmed that there is no structural damage to his ankle. The Rockets’ power forward will start his rehabilitation process to manage the swelling, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania, a respected NBA insider.

The injury occurred with five minutes left in the game against New Orleans on Saturday night, forcing him to leave the court and not return.

Selected as the fourth overall pick in the 2023 draft, Thompson is in his second NBA season, where he is averaging 14 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game.

The Rockets currently hold the fifth position in the Western Conference standings with a record of 39-25. In the coming 20 days, they have two upcoming games against Orlando (March 14 and 11), as well as matches against Phoenix (March 13), Dallas (March 15), Chicago (March 16), Philadelphia (March 18), Miami (March 22), and Denver (March 24).

Aimen Thompson’s twin brother, Auzar Thompson, also plays in the NBA. He was selected with the fifth pick in the 2023 draft by Detroit, where he continues to play.
