Following Buducnost’s surprising loss to Mega, Partizan has solidified its position at the top of the AdmiralBet ABA League with a decisive victory over FMP (90:65).
The Montenegrin champions are now one win behind the “black and whites”, with Budućnost at 19-3 and Partizan leading at 20-2.
If Andrej Žakelj’s team secures wins against Borac, Spartak, Cibona, and SC Derbi in the upcoming games, they will have the opportunity to reclaim first place from Partizan on April 11th at the M:tel “Morača” hall—this time on their own terms, as they would outpace the Belgrade club.
Immediately following their match in Podgorica, Željko Obradović’s squad will face another derby against Red Star.
In tonight’s matchup against the rivals from Železnik, all Partizan players contributed, with Dwayne Washington leading the score with 15 points. Aleksej Pokushevsky followed closely with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Vanja Marinković also scored 12 points.
Filip Barna stood out for FMP, netting 18 points.
Looking ahead, Partizan will face another challenging opponent, Dubai away, while Buducnost will host Borac.
