It is the duty of all relevant institutions to ensure that the murder of Duško Jovanović, owner and editor-in-chief of the newspaper Dan, is thoroughly investigated, stated the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović.
On the 21st anniversary of Jovanović’s murder, Milatović remarked that this unresolved crime continues to be an open wound in Montenegrin society.
He expressed on the X network that Jovanović’s bravery in addressing challenging issues, his steadfastness in seeking the truth, and his commitment to the public interest are enduring values that inspire today’s journalists and all free individuals in Montenegro.
“I reiterate that it is the responsibility of all competent authorities to persist until this murder is fully investigated. This is a debt owed to his family, his peers, as well as the journalism profession and all citizens who believe in truth and justice,” Milatović emphasized.
