The top team in the Western Conference stormed into the East and took down the defending champions, as Oklahoma defeated Boston 118:112, marking their eighth win in the last nine NBA games.
Shai Gilges-Alexander led Oklahoma with an impressive 34 points, along with seven assists and five rebounds. Chet Holmgren contributed 23 points and 15 rebounds, while Cason Wallace added 14 points.
For Boston, Jayson Tatum was the standout player with 33 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. Derrick White chipped in with 22 points and eight rebounds, while Al Horford recorded 18 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.
With this victory, Oklahoma sits atop the Western Conference with a record of 54 wins and 12 losses. Conversely, Boston’s defeat ended their five-game winning streak, leaving them second in the Eastern Conference with a record of 47/19.
Minnesota also found success, beating Denver 115:95 on the road—marking the Wolves’ sixth consecutive win in the league and their fifth straight victory against the Nuggets.
Anthony Edwards was Minnesota’s leading scorer with 29 points, while Julius Randle added 25 points. Jaden McDaniels contributed 16 points and eight rebounds, Rudy Gobert achieved a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Donte DiVincenzo added 10 points, six rebounds, and six assists.
Nikola Jokić, the Serbian star, shone for Denver with 34 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Russell Westbrook supported with 19 points, while Jamal Murray finished with 12 points and eight assists.
Two players from the former Yugoslavia had standout performances—Bogdan Bogdanović and Ivica Zubac propelled the Los Angeles Clippers to a 119:104 win over Miami.
The Serbian captain was the top scorer for the Clippers, registering 30 points, his highest in a single game this season, alongside 39 rebounds and four assists. The Croatian center contributed 26 points and 14 rebounds, and James Harden scored 24 points with 11 assists and eight rebounds.
For Miami, Tyler Herro was the most effective player with 31 points, seven assists, and six rebounds.
