The ongoing dialogue between representatives of the Civic Movement URA and the European Greens parliamentary group regarding the safeguarding of Montenegro’s natural resources has led to the announcement of Thomas Weiss’s visit to Montenegro, according to Mileta Radovanić, the Secretary General of URA.
Weiss, who currently chairs the POSP and serves as a member of the European Parliament, is a key figure within the European Greens, the Civic Movement URA states.
Radovanić emphasized that Weiss’s visit aims to bolster efforts to preserve Solana and Velika Plaza, highlighting their ecological and economic significance to Montenegro.
“The visit from Thomas Weiss, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Stabilization and Association between Montenegro and the EU, sends a powerful message that the European partners and institutions support our environmental protection efforts. MEP Weiss will observe the current situation firsthand and will offer his insights and recommendations to safeguard these natural treasures for future generations,” Radovanić noted.
The URA Civic Movement reiterated their ongoing communication with Thomas Weiss and the Greens in the European Parliament concerning current challenges and the long-term safeguarding of Montenegro’s natural resources. “We are collaborating to enhance international support for protecting Montenegro’s coastline and promoting sustainable development that adheres to European standards and principles. The URA Civic Movement remains resolute in defending the public interest, natural resources, and Montenegro’s path toward Europe,” Radovanić concluded.
