The Science and Technology Park (STP) has quickly become a major hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and the transfer of technology and knowledge in Montenegro, as reported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI).
“Since its infrastructure became operational on June 10 of last year, NTP has transformed into a central space for innovators, start-ups, development companies, and institutions, all committed to advancing innovation throughout the country,” the statement highlighted.
Over the past year, the NTP community has expanded to include 33 tenants, comprising 21 start-ups, seven development firms, and four institutions. Through a range of programs, workshops, and collaborations, a vibrant ecosystem has developed, enabling ideas to evolve into tangible solutions and products with significant market potential.
“A notable advancement in Montenegro’s innovation landscape was the establishment of the Technology Transfer Office within the NTP in November of last year. This office, Montenegro’s first of its kind, facilitates efficient connections between the academic and business spheres, expediting the application of scientific research in the economy and industry,” noted the Ministry.
According to NTP Director Valentina Radulović, the Science and Technology Park is much more than just a physical space; it is a community of innovators, entrepreneurs, and researchers who are collectively shaping the future of the nation.
“Our ambition is to cultivate an ecosystem that nurtures new ideas, enhances access to knowledge and resources, and inspires everyone eager to contribute to Montenegro’s technological advancement,” Radulović stated.
In the near future, NTP plans to broaden its facilities, forge new partnerships, and introduce fresh programs with the goal of further enhancing the country’s innovation landscape.
“Innovation transcends mere terminology; it is the catalyst for transformation, the future we collectively create,” the statement emphasized.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, alongside NTP, is committed to fostering an environment where ideas can thrive, and technologies pave the way for a new era.
“Our unified mission is to empower young talent, bridge science and industry, and encourage every exceptional mind to shine. Together, we are constructing an innovation ecosystem where Montenegro plays an active role in technological progress and sustainable development,” the statement concluded.
