“Sharks: Superior to Holland in Utrecht”

The Montenegro national water polo team celebrated a win in their first preparatory match for the European Championship, kicking off on January 4 next year.
In Utrecht, the “Sharks” triumphed over the Netherlands with a score of 12:11.
At the end of the first quarter, our team trailed by one goal (3:2), but at halftime, they surged ahead by three goals, leading 6:3.
The score then shifted to 10:7, with the Netherlands managing to soften their defeat in the end.
Aleksa Ukropina was the standout player for Montenegro, netting three goals, while Vlado Popadić, Jovan Vujović, and Đuro Radović contributed two goals each. Kanstantin Averka, Aljoša Mačić, and Dušan Matković each tallied one goal.
The team also featured goalkeepers Dejan Lazović and Darko Đurović, along with Miroslav Perković, Stefan Vidović, Vladan Spaić, Vasilije Radović, and Marko Mršić.
Coach Vladimir Gojković’s squad will continue training in Utrecht until Sunday, before heading to the Four Nations tournament in Cagliari from December 19 to 21, where they will face off against Italy, France, and Australia.
During the initial round of the European Championship in Croatia (January 4 – 16), Montenegro will compete in Dubrovnik with France, Spain, and Croatia in their group.
