Primorje’s Young Water Polo Players Secure Second Place in Podgorica; Akvatik Verde Falls Short in Third-Place Match
The youngest water polo athletes from Primorje secured second place at the “Olympic Hopes” tournament, specifically for players born in 2012 and later, held in Podgorica this past weekend.
Kotor faced Jadran from Split in the final, losing 4:2, following victories over Mladost from Bijela (5:4), Gusara (16:0) during group stages, and Korčula (8:6) in the semi-finals.
Akvatik Verde from Podgorica also made it to the semi-finals, overcoming Mornar 6:4 and Nikšić 7:1 in the group stage.
In the semifinals, Akvatik Verde was defeated by Jadran from Split with a score of 9:3, and subsequently lost the third-place match to Korčula 10:5.
Mladost from Bijela claimed fifth place in the tournament, while Budva took sixth.
Jadran from Herceg Novi finished in eighth, with Budućnost in ninth place, and Nikšić rounding out the eleventh position.
