Currently, there are 3,813 officially registered tourists across various types of accommodation in the Tivat Riviera. This marks an eight percent increase compared to the same period last year and is 11% higher than on the corresponding day in the record-setting year of 2019, as reported by the Tivat Tourist Organization yesterday.
Of these guests, 3,798 are international visitors, while just 15 are locals. Among the tourists, those from Russia are the most numerous, followed by guests from Serbia, Turkey, and the UK. Additionally, there are smaller numbers of visitors from Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Germany, Israel, and the USA enjoying the Tivat Riviera. A significant proportion of visitors—3,153—choose private accommodations, a nine percent rise from last year and a 31% increase compared to 2019. Currently, there are 660 hotel guests in Tivat, reflecting an eight percent growth from the same timeframe in 2024.
Tivat’s growing appeal in the UK market, where more tourists are arriving, can be attributed to excellent seasonal flights connecting Tivat Airport to three airports in London, as well as Manchester, Birmingham, and Bristol, serviced by British airlines EasyJet and Jet2. This trend is underscored by an article featured in the “Daily Mail,” one of the UK’s most widely read newspapers.
Titled “A stunning European seaside town, dubbed ‘just like Ibiza’, only much more affordable,” the article describes Tivat as an excellent alternative for British vacationers seeking Ibiza-style luxury at a more reasonable price.
“A picturesque seaside town in Montenegro is the perfect destination to enjoy Ibiza-like luxury for less. Tivat combines the allure of Monaco and Ibiza into one locale,” the Daily Mail reported, referencing a survey conducted among visitors from the UK through Airbnb, one of the largest online private accommodation rental platforms.
The article emphasizes the luxury of the Porto Montenegro marina and its high-end dining, shopping, and service options, alongside the historical sites of the Maritime Heritage Collection, which showcase Tivat’s rich naval past. The proximity to attractive medieval towns like Kotor and Perast, along with the pristine beaches of the Tivat Riviera, particularly the public beaches, have notably impressed British travelers.
Among the beaches, Ponta Beach (Seljanova) has been highlighted as a top-rated spot for sunbathing and swimming in Tivat. One British tourist commented on Google Reviews: “A beautiful public beach. No umbrellas, deck chairs, music or similar distractions. Just clear sea, stunning views, and friendly people,” as cited by the “Daily Mail”, which also notes that a visit to Tivat “will not break the bank” for the average Brit.
“A local beer ranges from 2.10 to 2.50 euros, and a cappuccino is under three euros,” the article mentions, adding that in July and August, temperatures in Tivat often exceed 30 degrees Celsius. “Generally, from April to October, sunny and pleasant weather is the norm,” it continues, noting that the flight duration from Great Britain to Tivat is approximately three hours.
