Licensed Academic Program in Chemistry at the Faculty of Science
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation has granted an amendment to the license of the University of Montenegro, Faculty of Science and Mathematics in Podgorica, allowing the commencement of the Chemistry basic academic study program for a period of three years (equivalent to 180 ECTS credits). This license permits the enrollment of up to 20 students annually.
“The necessity for this program has been validated by analyses of labor market requirements, as the education system has been experiencing a long-standing shortage of chemistry educators,” the Ministry states.
This program aims to provide both theoretical and practical training essential for functioning as chemistry teachers in primary and secondary schools, as well as opportunities to work in research laboratories and quality control labs focused on environmental pollutants, alongside roles in state administration.
“Objectives of the program encompass the development of research initiatives and collaboration with both national and international scientific communities. Teaching will adhere to high-quality standards, incorporating regular internal and external assessments. Learning outcomes will be aligned with labor market demands, equipping students with the ability to effectively apply their acquired knowledge in real-world scenarios,” the statement highlights.
