Students from the branch class of Andrijevica Elementary School “Bajo Jojić” in Rijeka Marsenića returned to class today. For them, the national holiday served as a school day, according to reports from “Vijesti.”
As per unofficial sources, the students attended school upon a teacher’s invitation, who described the activity during the national holiday as “preparations for the upcoming inspection scheduled for Monday.”
Following today’s sessions, additional inspections will be conducted at the school. The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation has requested urgent action from education inspectors as well as labor inspectors to investigate possible violations regarding non-working days during public holidays.
“Just before your inquiry, we received unofficial news regarding this matter. To confirm and establish the facts, we promptly requested an urgent statement from the school and asked the Education Inspectorate to take immediate action concerning the report. We also contacted the Labor Inspectorate for quick verification of the facts about the observance of public holidays and non-working days during them. You will be updated on all subsequent procedures in accordance with the actions of the relevant institutions,” stated the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation in their response to “Vijesti”.
